Batalin–Vilkovisky Integrals in Finite Dimensions

The Batalin-Vilkovisky method (BV ) is the most powerful method to analyze functional integrals with (infinite-dimensional) gauge symmetries presently known. It has been invented to fix gauges associated with symmetries that do not close off-shell. Homological Perturbation Theory is introduced and used to develop the integration theory behind BV and to describe the BV quantization of a Lagrangi...

Superfield integrals in high dimensions

We present an efficient, covariant, graph-based method to integrate superfields over fermionic spaces of high dimensionality. We illustrate this method with the computation of the most general sixteen-dimensional Majorana-Weyl integral in ten dimensions. Our method has applications to the construction of higher-derivative supergravity actions as well as the computation of string and membrane ve...

Differentiation of integrals in higher dimensions.

We prove a localization principle for directional maximal operators in L(p)(R(n)), with p > 1. The resulting bounds, which we conjecture hold for the largest possible class of directions, imply Lebesgue-type differentiation of integrals over tubes that point in the given directions.

Finite Yang-Mills Integrals

We use Monte Carlo methods to directly evaluate D-dimensional SU(N) Yang-Mills partition functions reduced to zero Euclidean dimensions, with and without supersymmetry. In the non-supersymmetric case, we find that the integrals exist for D = 3, N ≥ 4 and D = 4, N ≥ 3 and, lastly, D ≥ 5, N ≥ 2. We conclude that the D = 3 and D = 4 integrals exist in the large N limit, and therefore lead to a wel...

Entanglement evolution in finite dimensions.

We provide a relation which describes how the entanglement of two d-level systems evolves as either system undergoes an arbitrary physical process. The dynamics of the entanglement turns out to be of a simple form and is fully captured by a single quantity.
